How to Connect a Water Filter in Planet Zoo 2

At a glance

Use Edit Filtration Network to build pipes from a powered Water Filter to the node on an Aquarium Staff Gate. For natural habitat water, connect a Water Pump to the network and cover the water with its radius.

Connect an aquarium

  1. Open Browser → Facilities → Utilities and place a Water Filter.
  2. Supply power and provide a path a Mechanic can use to maintain the filtration building.
  3. Select the building and choose Edit Filtration Network.
  4. Build a Pipe between the filter’s node and the node on the Aquarium Staff Gate.
  5. Check the connected network and its required flow. Add filtration capacity if the network cannot meet demand.
  6. Set Salinity to match all connected water bodies and their animals.

Water volume and animal numbers increase filtration demand. Keep the Filtration Rate above the demand to prevent water cleanliness from falling.

Connect natural habitat water

Add a Water Pump to the Filtration Network. Its radius needs to cover the natural water body. The pump supplies the connection for this water; it is not a substitute for an Aquarium Staff Gate’s node.

If the water stays dirty

Check the pipe connections, power supply, maintenance access, total filtration capacity and salinity. Adding pipe alone does not add filtration capacity.

Water Cleanliness and Tank Cleanliness are separate. The network handles water quality; a Keeper still needs to clean aquarium glass and the tank itself.
